Xenna Extra Comfort is a drug for constipation that stimulates the large intestine and softens the stool.
The active substance is senna fruit dry extract (Sennae angustifoliae fructus extractum siccum (4-6: 1)).
One tablet contains 150 mg – 220 mg of the extract, which corresponds to 20 mg of hydroxyanthracene glycosides expressed as sennoside B.
Excipients: gelatin, methylated silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, stearic acid, talc, microcrystalline cellulose, anhydrous lactose, copolymer of methylacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate (1: 1), macrogol 6000, sucrose, gum arabic, polysorbate 80, calcium carbonate E170, glucose syrup, dry, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, titanium dioxide E 171, montana wax.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age:
1 gastro-resistant tablet daily, one hour before bedtime.
The tablet should not be chewed.
The tablet should be washed down with a sufficient amount of liquid.
The laxative effect usually occurs after 8 – 12 hours.
Usually it is enough to use 2 – 3 times a week.
Do not use for more than 1-2 weeks without consulting a doctor.
Action
The senna extract in Xenna Extra Comfort contains hydroxyanthracene glycosides called senosides. Senosides are converted by bacteria in the large intestine into an active metabolite – renin anthrone. It stimulates the intestines and inhibits the absorption of ions from the intestinal lumen (Na +, Cl-). The water is filtered into the intestinal contents. The fecal masses relax and the intestine is stimulated to remove them.

Woda ulega przesączeniu do treści jelitowych. Masy kałowe rozluźniają się, a jelito jest stymulowane do ich usuwania.
