If you use more than you should,
you should inform your doctor immediately.
Poisoning can occur from significant overdose or from accidental ingestion of the drug.
The clinical picture of poisoning with xylometazoline hydrochloride can be confusing, as phases of stimulation can alternate with phases of central nervous and cardiovascular suppression. Especially in children, overdosing often leads to central nervous effects with cramps and coma, slow heartbeat, respiratory failure and an increase in blood pressure, which can be followed by a drop in blood pressure.
Symptoms of central nervous system stimulation are anxiety, agitation, hallucination, and convulsions.
Symptoms due to the inhibition of the central nervous system include lowering of body temperature, lethargy, drowsiness, and coma.
The following additional symptoms can occur:
Pupillary constriction (miosis), dilation of the pupils (mydriasis), fever, sweating, paleness, bluish discoloration of the skin as a result of the decrease in the oxygen content in the blood (cyanosis), palpitations, respiratory depression and respiratory arrest (apnea), nausea and vomiting, psychogenic disorders, elevation or depression blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, too fast / too slow heartbeat.
In the event of poisoning, a doctor must be informed immediately; monitoring and therapy in the hospital are necessary.
If you forget to use it
Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose, but continue using the dosage instructions.
