Gastro-resistant tablets based on esomeprazole.
Therapeutic indications
Nexium Control is indicated in adults for the short-term treatment of reflux symptoms (eg heartburn and acid regurgitation).
Dosage and Posology
Nexium Control is given as follows: the recommended dose is 20 mg of esomeprazole (one tablet) per day.
It may be necessary to take the tablets for 2-3 consecutive days to achieve improvement of symptoms. The duration of treatment is up to 2 weeks. Once the symptoms have completely disappeared, treatment should be stopped. If resolution of symptoms is not achieved within 2 weeks of continuous treatment, the patient should consult a physician.
The tablets should be swallowed whole with half a glass of water. The tablets should not be chewed or crushed. Alternatively, the tablet can be dispersed in half a glass of still water. Other liquids should not be used as the gastro-resistant coating may dissolve. The water must be mixed until the tablet disperses. The liquid with the granules should be drunk immediately or within 30 minutes. The glass must be rinsed with half a glass of water and the water drunk. The granules must not be chewed or crushed.

Indicazioni terapeutiche
Nexium Control è indicato negli adulti per il trattamento a breve termine dei sintomi da reflusso (es. pirosi e rigurgito acido).
Dosaggio e Posologia
Nexium Control si somministra nel modo seguente: la dose raccomandata è di 20 mg di esomeprazolo (una compressa) al giorno.
Potrebbe essere necessario assumere le compresse per 2-3 giorni consecutivi per ottenere il miglioramento dei sintomi. La durata del trattamento è fino a 2 settimane. Una volta ottenuta la completa scomparsa dei sintomi, il trattamento deve essere interrotto. Se non si ottiene la risoluzione dei sintomi entro 2 settimane di trattamento continuo, il paziente deve consultare un medico.
Le compresse devono essere deglutite intere con mezzo bicchiere di acqua. Le compresse non devono essere masticate o frantumate. In alternativa la compressa può essere dispersa in mezzo bicchiere di acqua non gassata. Non devono essere usati altri liquidi in quanto il rivestimento gastroresistente si potrebbe dissolvere. L’acqua deve essere mescolata fino a disperdere la compressa. Il liquido con i granuli deve essere bevuto immediatamente o entro 30 minuti. Il bicchiere deve essere sciacquato con mezzo bicchiere di acqua e l’acqua bevuta. I granuli non devono essere masticati o frantumati.
