The drug is used for
Short-term treatment of sleep disorders.
Note:
Not all sleep disorders require drug therapy. They are often an expression of physical or mental illness and can be influenced by other measures or therapy for the underlying disease. Therefore, in the case of persistent sleep disorders, no long-term treatment with the drug should be used, but the attending physician should be consulted.
Contraindications and Precautions
The drug must not be taken
– if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to doxylamine or any of the other ingredients,
– if you have an acute asthma attack,
– glaucoma (narrow-angle glaucoma),
– if you have an adrenal tumor (pheochromocytoma),
– if the prostate gland is enlarged (prostate hypertrophy) with residual urine,
– in the case of acute poisoning from alcohol, sleeping pills or pain relievers and psychotropic drugs (neuroleptics, tranquilizers, antidepressants, lithium),
– with seizure disorders,
– with simultaneous treatment with inhibitors of monoamine oxidase.
Anwendungsgebiete
Das Medikament wird angewendet zur
Kurzzeitbehandlung von Schlafstorungen.
Hinweis:
Nicht alle Schlafstorungen bedurfen einer medikamentosen Therapie. Oftmals sind sie Ausdruck korperlicher oder seelischer Erkrankungen und konnen durch andere Ma?nahmen oder eine Therapie der Grundkrankheit beeinflusst werden. Deshalb sollte bei langer anhaltenden Schlafstorungen keine Dauerbehandlung mit dem Medikament erfolgen, sondern der behandelnde Arzt aufgesucht werden.
Gegenanzeigen und Vorsichtsma?nahmen
Das Medikament darf nicht eingenommen werden,
– wenn Sie uberempfindlich (allergisch) gegen Doxylamin oder einen der sonstigen Bestandteile sind,
– bei akutem Asthma-Anfall,
– bei grunem Star (Engwinkel-Glaukom),
– bei Nebennieren-Tumor (Phaochromozytom),
– bei Vergro?erung der Vorsteherdruse (Prostata-Hypertrophie) mit Restharnbildung,
– bei akuter Vergiftung durch Alkohol, Schlaf- oder Schmerzmittel sowie Psychopharmaka (Neuroleptika, Tranquilizer, Antidepressiva, Lithium),
– bei Anfallsleiden,
– bei gleichzeitiger Behandlung mit Hemmstoffen der Monoaminoxidase.
