What is Canesten used for?
Canesten contains clotrimazole which is an antifungal (antifungal) for dermatological use, that is, it acts locally by eliminating skin fungi. Canesten is used for the treatment of mycoses (fungi) of the skin and skin folds, such as pityriasis versicolor, skin candidiasis, tinea pedis or athlete’s foot, tinea corporis.
Dosage and Posology
How to use Canesten?
Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist The cream is particularly suitable for the treatment of hairless (hairless) skin areas.
Canesten cream should be applied in small quantities 2-3 times a day, in correspondence with the parts to be treated. Given Canesten’s high fungicidal activity, the application of a small amount of cream is usually sufficient to treat a surface the size of the palm of a hand.
Canesten cream should be applied by rubbing lightly, after having thoroughly washed and dried the area to be treated. Warning: do not exceed the indicated doses without medical advice.
Duration of treatment
Generally, a treatment period of three to four weeks is sufficient for the disappearance of the manifestations. Continue treatment with Canesten cream for at least 2 weeks after the symptoms have disappeared in order to consolidate the therapeutic results obtained and avoid reinfections.
In the event that after 3-4 weeks of continuous use you do not notice appreciable results, consult your doctor. Consult your doctor if the disorder occurs repeatedly or if you notice any recent changes in its characteristics.

Canesten si usa per il trattamento delle micosi (funghi) della pelle e delle pieghe cutanee, come pitiriasi versicolore, candidosi cutanea, tinea pedis o piede d’atleta, tinea corporis.
Dosaggio e Posologia
Come usare Canesten?
Usare questo medicinale seguendo sempre esattamente quanto riportato in questo foglio o le istruzioni del medico o del farmacista. Se ha dubbi consulti il medico o il farmacista. La crema e particolarmente adatta per il trattamento delle zone cutanee glabre (senza peli).
Canesten crema va applicata in piccole quantita 2-3 volte al giorno, in corrispondenza delle parti da trattare . Considerata l’elevata attivita fungicida di Canesten, e di norma sufficiente l’applicazione di una piccola quantita di crema per il trattamento di una superficie della grandezza del palmo di una mano.
Canesten crema va applicata frizionando leggermente, dopo aver lavato ed asciugato accuratamente la parte da trattare. Attenzione: non superare le dosi indicate senza il consiglio del medico.
Durata del trattamento
In genere, per la scomparsa delle manifestazioni, e sufficiente un periodo di trattamento di tre-quattro settimane. Prosegua la terapia con Canesten crema per almeno 2 settimane dopo la scomparsa delle manifestazioni al fine di consolidare i risultati terapeutici ottenuti ed evitare reinfezioni.
Nel caso in cui dopo 3-4 settimane di impiego continuativo non nota risultati apprezzabili, consulti il medico. Consulti il medico se il disturbo si presenta ripetutamente o se ha notato un qualsiasi cambiamento recente delle sue caratteristiche.
