Contraindications
The medicinal product must not be taken – if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to bromhexine hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients – if you have a stomach or duodenal ulcer, as the medicinal product can affect the mucous membrane of the stomach and intestines – in babies and young children under 2 years of age (risk of spasms of the larynx) – by patients with bronchial asthma or other respiratory diseases that are associated with pronounced hypersensitivity of the airways. Inhaling the medicine can cause shortness of breath or an asthma attack.
dosage
Unless otherwise prescribed by the doctor, the usual dose is: – Adults and adolescents over 14 years of age: 16-33 drops 3 times a day (equivalent to 24-48 mg bromhexine hydrochloride daily) – Children and adolescents between 6 and 14 years and patients under 50 kg body weight: 16 drops 3 times a day (equivalent to 24 mg bromhexine hydrochloride per day) – children from 2 to 6 years: 8 drops 3 times a day (equivalent to 12 mg bromhexine hydrochloride per day)
In the case of impaired kidney function or severe liver disease, the dosage should be reduced accordingly. Please ask your doctor about this.Note: It may make sense to take enough fluids.- The duration of use depends on the type and severity of the disease and should be decided by the attending physician. If the clinical picture worsens or there is no improvement after 4-5 days, you should consult a doctor. Please talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have the impression that the effect is too strong or too weak. In the event of an overdose, no symptoms beyond the normal side effects are usually to be expected. If there are serious symptoms, circulatory monitoring and, if necessary, treatment based on the symptoms may be necessary. If a child has swallowed significant amounts of the drug, contact the nearest doctor available – Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. If you have forgotten to take the medicine or if you have taken too little, please continue taking the medicine the next time as described in the dosage instructions. Das Arzneimittel darf nicht eingenommen werden,- wenn Sie überempfindlich (allergisch) gegenüber Bromhexinhydrochlorid oder einem der sonstigen Bestandteile sind- wenn Sie ein Magen- oder Zwölffingerdarmgeschwür haben, da das Arzneimittel die Schleimhaut-Barriere von Magen und Darm beeinflussen kann- von Säuglingen und Kleinkindern unter 2 Jahren (Gefahr eines Kehlkopfkrampfes)- von Patienten mit Bronchialasthma oder anderen Atemwegserkrankungen, die mit einer ausgeprägten Überempfindlichkeit der Atemwege einhergehen. Die Inhalation des Arzneimittels kann zu Atemnot führen oder einen Asthmaanfall auslösen.
Dosierung
Falls vom Arzt nicht anderes verordnet, ist die übliche Dosis:- Erwachsene und Jugendliche über 14 Jahre: 3-mal täglich 16-33 Tropfen (entsprechend täglich 24-48 mg Bromhexinhydrochlorid)- Kinder und Jugendliche zwischen 6 und 14 Jahren sowie Patienten unter 50 kg Körpergewicht: 3-mal täglich 16 Tropfen (entsprechend täglich 24 mg Bromhexinhydrochlorid)- Kinder von 2 bis 6 Jahren: 3-mal täglich 8 Tropfen (entsprechend täglich 12 mg Bromhexinhydrochlorid)
Bei eingeschränkter Nierenfunktion oder einer schweren Lebererkrankung sollte die Dosierung entsprechend vermindert werden. Fragen Sie bitte hierzu Ihren Arzt.Hinweis: Die Zufuhr von genügend Flüssigkeit kann sinnvoll sein.- Die Dauer der Anwendung richtet sich nach Art und Schwere der Erkrankung und sollte vom behandelnden Arzt entschieden werden. Wenn sich das Krankheitsbild verschlimmert oder nach 4-5 Tagen keine Besserung eintritt, sollten Sie einen Arzt aufsuchen. Bitte sprechen Sie mit Ihrem Arzt oder Apotheker, wenn Sie den Eindruck haben, dass die Wirkung zu stark oder zu schwach ist.- Bei einer Überdosierung sind in der Regel keine Krankheitszeichen, die über die normalen Nebenwirkungen hinausgehen, zu erwarten. Sollte es zu schweren Krankheitszeichen kommen, kann eine Kreislaufüberwachung und ggf. eine an das Krankheitszeichen orientierte Behandlung notwendig sein. Falls ein Kind erhebliche Mengen des Arzneistoffs verschluckt hat, wenden Sie sich an den nächst erreichbaren Arzt.- Nehmen Sie nicht die doppelte Dosis ein, wenn Sie eine Einnahme vergessen haben. Wenn Sie einmal vergessen haben, das Arzneimittel einzunehmen, oder zu wenig eingenommen haben, setzen Sie bitte beim nächsten Mal die Einnahme des Arzneimittels, wie in der Dosierungsanleitung beschrieben, fort.- Bitte brechen Sie die Behandlung mit dem Arzneimittel nicht ohne Rücksprache mit Ihrem Arzt ab.
