Aescin is a drug with anti-swelling and anti-inflammatory properties, as well as improving the tension of blood vessels.
The active substance is alpha-escin (Escinum).
1 film-coated tablet contains 20 mg of alpha-escin.
Excipients: lactose monohydrate, potato starch, povidone, talc, magnesium stearate. Coating: talc, titanium dioxide (E 171), povidone, polysorbate 80, methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate copolymer, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, sunset yellow (E 110), silicone antifoam emulsion.
Dosage

Aescin film-coated tablets are for oral use.
The usual dose for adults: 2 tablets 3 times a day, after a meal, washing down with plenty of liquid.
Prophylactically, it can be used at least 16 hours before surgery.
After 2-3 months of treatment, maintenance treatment can be applied at a dose of 40 mg (2 tablets) twice a day.
When using contraceptives, a double dose of alpha-escin can be taken.
Action
Aescin is anti-swelling and anti-inflammatory, and improves the tone of blood vessels. It reduces the permeability of the blood vessel walls. It is effective in the treatment of postoperative and traumatic edema. Aescin causes faster absorption of traumatic hematomas and reduces the likelihood of their occurrence in the postoperative period (especially after surgical procedures of the musculoskeletal system). Moreover, by sealing the endothelium of blood vessels, it improves venous-lymphatic circulation. The drug is also used in the prevention of thrombophlebitis in the postoperative period, as well as in the treatment of disorders of the venous circulation of the limbs and varicose veins of the lower extremities.

Dawkowanie

Lek Aescin tabletki powlekane przeznaczony jest do stosowania doustnego.
Zazwyczaj stosowana dawka leku dla dorosłych: 3 razy na dobę po 2 tabletki, po posiłku, popijając dużą ilością płynu.
Profilaktycznie można stosować na minimum 16 godzin przed zabiegiem chirurgicznym.
Po 2-3 miesiącach leczenia można zastosować leczenie podtrzymujące w dawce 40 mg (2 tabletki) 2 razy na dobę.
W przypadku stosowania środków antykoncepcyjnych można przyjmować podwójną dawkę alfa-escyny.
Działanie
Lek Aescin działa przeciwobrzękowo i przeciwzapalnie oraz poprawia stan napięcia naczyń krwionośnych. Zmniejsza przepuszczalność ścian naczyń krwionośnych. Wykazuje skuteczność w leczeniu obrzęków pooperacyjnych oraz pourazowych. Aescin powoduje szybsze wchłanianie krwiaków pourazowych oraz zmniejsza prawdopodobieństwo ich wystąpienia w okresie pooperacyjnym (szczególnie po zabiegach chirurgicznych narządu ruchu). Ponadto, uszczelniając śródbłonek naczyń krwionośnych poprawia krążenie żylno-limfatyczne. Lek stosowany jest również w zapobieganiu zakrzepowemu zapaleniu żył w okresie pooperacyjnym, także w leczeniu zaburzeń krążenia żylnego kończyn i żylaków kończyn dolnych.
