Voltaren Emulgel 1% is a medicinal product in the form of a white gel, used for rubbing into the skin. The active substance – diclofenac – belongs to the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and has an analgesic, anti-inflammatory and anti-edema effect. Due to the base, the gel also has a cooling and soothing effect. Voltaren Emulgel 1% is used in muscle and joint pain and contusions – sprains and sprains.
Side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Common side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
skin rash, itching
redness or burning sensation of the skin.
Very rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 10,000 people):
increased skin sensitivity to sunlight (symptoms of hypersensitivity are sunburn with itching, swelling and blisters).
Warnings and Precautions
Do not use the drug on damaged skin, open wounds, eczema. You should stop using this medicine if you develop a skin rash after using it.
Avoid using the drug on large areas of the skin and for longer than the approved period of use unless directed by a doctor.
Voltaren Emulgel 1% is intended for external use. It should not be used in the mouth. Avoid contact of the gel with the eyes.
After applying Voltaren Emulgel 1%, the treated area can be taken, but not air-tight bandages.
The drug contains propylene glycol and benzyl benzoate which may cause skin irritation in some people.
Storage:
Keep the drug out of the sight and reach of children.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Voltaren Emulgel 1% must not be used in the last three months of pregnancy as it may be harmful to the unborn child or cause difficulties in childbirth.

Często występujące działania niepożądane (u 1 do 10 na 10000 osób):
wysypka skórna, świąd,
zaczerwienienie lub pieczenie skóry.
Bardzo rzadko występujące działania niepożądane (u 1 na 10000 osób):
zwiększona wrażliwość skóry na światło słoneczne (objawami nadwrażliwości są oparzenia słoneczne ze świądem, obrzękiem i pęcherzami).
Ostrzeżenia i środki ostrożności
Nie należy stosować leku na uszkodzoną skórę, otwarte rany, wypryski. Należy zaprzestać stosowania leku, jeśli po jego użyciu pojawi się wysypka skórna.
Należy unikać stosowania leku na duże powierzchnie skóry oraz przez okres dłuższy niż zatwierdzony okres stosowania jeśli nie zostało to zalecone przez lekarza.
Voltaren Emulgel 1% jest przeznaczony do użytku zewnętrznego. Nie należy go stosować w jamie ustnej. Należy unikać kontaktu żelu z oczami.
Po zastosowaniu Voltaren Emulgel 1% można zabanażować leczone miejsce, ale nie mogą to być bandaże nieprzepuszczające powietrza.
