Therapeutic indications
Tilarin Spray is used in the prophylaxis and treatment of allergic rhinitis.
Dosage and Posology
The drug should be taken according to the following doses and methods in adults and children: one spray per nostril 2-4 times a day. Tilarin should be used regularly to achieve the best symptom control. The majority of patients who respond to therapy with Tilarin will notice a benefit within the first 48 hours of use; however in some subjects (less than 10% of the cases studied) it may be necessary to wait up to 7 days for full symptom control. The duration of treatment should not exceed eight weeks.
Overdose
Animal studies have shown no evidence of significant toxic effects with nedocromil sodium even at high doses, nor have long-term studies with nedocromil sodium in humans shown any safety hazard with the drug. Overdose is therefore unlikely to cause any problems. However, in the event of a suspected overdose, treatment should be supportive and directed at controlling the relevant symptoms.

Il Tilarin va usato con regolarità per ottenere il miglior controllo dei sintomi. La maggioranza dei pazienti che rispondono alla terapia con Tilarin noterà un beneficio fin dalle prime 48 ore dall’uso; tuttavia in alcuni soggetti (meno del 10% dei casi studiati) può essere necessario attendere fino a 7 giorni per un pieno controllo della sintomatologia. La durata del trattamento non deve superare le otto settimane.
Sovradosaggio
Studi su animali non hanno mostrato evidenza di effetti tossici significativi con il sodio nedocromile anche a dosi elevate, né gli studi a lungo termine con il sodio nedocromile nell’uomo hanno evidenziato alcun pericolo per la sicurezza con il farmaco. Il sovradosaggio è quindi improbabile che causi problemi. Comunque in caso di un sospetto sovradosaggio, il trattamento deve essere di sostegno e diretto al controllo dei sintomi rilevanti.
