Effect of the SYNVISC injection solution
The SYNVISC injection solution contains hyaluronic acid as an active ingredient. This supplements or replaces the natural synovial fluid that protects the bones and cartilage and supplies the joint with nutrients. In osteoarthritis, the synovial fluid is often impaired and can no longer keep up with its lubricating and shock-absorbing properties. There is joint abrasion, pain and limited mobility.
The special thing about the SYNVISC solution is that the hyaluronic acid molecules it contains are linked to one another and thus optimally reproduce the natural joint fluid. It therefore has improved lubricating and shock-absorbing properties and remains in the joint longer than the conventional non-crosslinked variant.
