Cream based on micronized silver sulfadiazine.
Therapeutic indications
Sofargen Crema is used in the prophylaxis and in the local antibacterial treatment of infections in case of burns of 1st and 3rd degree; local antibacterial treatment of varicose ulcers and infected bedsores and in general of dermatological affections infected or susceptible to superinfections.
Dosage and Posology
The drug should be taken according to the following doses and methods. In burns Sofargen should be applied as early as possible. After a quick cleansing of the injured parts, immediately spread a uniform layer of cream 2 or 3 mm thick on the burned surfaces. The cream can be applied either directly on the lesions, possibly with the help of a sterile glove, or previously spread on a sterile gauze.
The application of Sofargen must continue without interruption, once or twice a day, as long as there is the possibility of infection and until complete healing, both in spontaneous repairs and in surgical ones. Each time the dressing is renewed, thoroughly cleanse the wounds with water or physiological solution by means of douching or sponging. Take care to promptly reapply the cream on surfaces from which it has been inadvertently removed. In other cases, varicose ulcers, bedsores, wounds and dermatological affections susceptible to infection, cleanse the injured part where necessary and apply a layer of cream 2-3 mm thick, following the same criteria described for the treatment of burns.
The lesion must always be kept completely covered by the medication. If a knee-high dressing is required, unwind portions of 20-30 cm of a bandage of adequate length, spread an abundant layer of cream, rewind the impregnated part, unwind another 20-30 cm and repeat the operation until the whole length of the bandage has been fully impregnated, then apply the required bandage

Indicazioni terapeutiche
Sofargen Crema si usa nella profilassi e nel trattamento antibatterico locale delle infezioni in caso di ustioni di Il e III grado; trattamento antibatterico locale di ulcere varicose e piaghe da decubito infette ed in genere di affezioni dermatologiche infette o suscettibili di superinfezioni.
Dosaggio e Posologia
Il farmaco va assunto secondo le seguenti dosi e modalita. Nelle ustioni Sofargen va applicato il piu precocemente possibile. Dopo una rapida detersione delle parti lese, stendere subito sulle superfici ustionate uno strato uniforme di crema di 2 o 3 mm di spessore. La crema puo essere applicata sia direttamente sulle lesioni, eventualmente con l’aiuto di un guanto sterile, sia previamente stesa su una garza sterile.
L’applicazione di Sofargen deve continuare senza interruzione, una o due volte al giorno, finche sussistano possibilita d’infezione e fino alla completa cicatrizzazione, sia nelle riparazioni spontanee, sia in quelle chirurgiche. Ad ogni rinnovo della medicazione detergere accuratamente le ferite con acqua o con soluzione fisiologica mediante docciature o spugnature. Avere cura di riapplicare tempestivamente la crema sulle superfici da cui sia stata inavvertitamente rimossa. Negli altri casi, ulcere varicose, piaghe da decubito, ferite e affezioni dermatologiche suscettibili di infezione, detergere ove necessario la parte lesa ed applicare uno strato di crema di 2-3 mm di spessore, seguendo lo stesso criterio descritto per il trattamento delle ustioni.
La lesione deve essere mantenuta sempre completamente coperta dal medicamento. Qualora occorresse una medicazione tipo gambaletto, svolgere porzioni di 20-30 cm di una benda di adeguata lunghezza, stendervi uno strato abbondante di crema, riavvolgere la parte impregnata, svolgerne altri 20-30 cm e ripetere l’operazione fino a che l’intera lunghezza della benda sia stata completamente impregnata, quindi praticare il bendaggio richiesto
