The drops can be used in children from 2 years of age. Bromhexine reduces the viscosity of the residual secretions by directly affecting the mucus and by stimulating the glandular cells. These cells are stimulated to produce a less sticky form of mucus. Additionally, the drug stimulates the activity of the ciliary epithelium.
