What Is Brufen 20 mg/ml Oral Suspension?
Brufen oral suspension contains ibuprofen 20 mg per ml, a widely used NSAID with analgesic, antipyretic, and anti-inflammatory activity .
It’s formulated as a yellow-orange flavored suspension, sweetened and recommended for **adults, adolescents (≥ 40 kg), and children aged 6 months to 12 years (> 7 kg)** .

Indications & Dosage
Adults & Adolescents (≥ 12 years, ≥ 40 kg)
Rheumatic pain: 400–700 mg (20–35 ml) three times daily, every 4–6 hours
Menstrual cramps: 400 mg (20 ml) 1–3 times/day at first symptoms
Mild–moderate pain: 200–400 mg (10–20 ml), 3–4 times/day
Max daily dose: 2,400 mg
Children (6 mo–12 yr, > 7 kg)
Dose: 5–7.5 mg/kg per dose (20–30 mg/kg/day), every 6 hours
Example:
7–10 kg (~6–12 mo): 2.5 ml three times/day
10–14.5 kg (1–2 yr): 5–7.5 ml, 3–4 times/day
Not recommended for under 6 months or < 7 kg

Precautions & Side Effects
Contraindications: hypersensitivity to ibuprofen/aspirin, active GI bleeding, surgery (CABG), severe heart/renal/hepatic disease, asthma sensitive to NSAIDs
Side effects: GI discomfort, nausea, headache, dizziness, allergic reactions, risk of ulceration, rare kidney/liver issues, increased cardiovascular risk with high-dose/long-term use
Cautions: elderly, dehydration, co-administration with anticoagulants, other NSAIDs, or comorbidities
