Elmetacin is a medicinal product with analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties indicated for use, inter alia, in the treatment of pain after injuries, arthritis.
The active substance is: indomethacin (Indomethacinum).
1 g of solution contains 10 mg of indomethacin.
Excipients: isopropyl alcohol, isopropyl myristate.
Dosage
Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
A drug for topical application to the skin.
The drug is applied as an application, there is no need to rub the solution.
Before the first use and after a longer period of use, press the applicator several times.
The drug is not used under an occlusive dressing!
The dressing can be applied a few minutes after application.
The drug can be used for 1-2 weeks.
If symptoms worsen or do not improve after 3 days of use, consult your doctor.
Adults: the drug is used 3-5 times a day. Depending on the size of the painful area, from 0.5 ml to 1.5 ml are used, e.g. 5 pump actuations up to 15 times (respectively 4-12 mg indomethacin).
The daily dose should not exceed 7.5 ml of the applied solution, i.e. 60 mg of indomethacin and 75 presses of the applicator, respectively.
Action
Elmetacin contains indomethacin, which belongs to NSAIDs, i.e. non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that inhibit the synthesis of prostaglandins (responsible, among others, for inflammation, pain). It has anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties.
Indications
Symptomatic treatment of accompanying pain:
arthritis, e.g. inflammation of the tendons, tendon sheaths, joint capsules, ankylosis of the shoulder joint,
inflammation caused by trauma, contusion (bruises, sprains, sprains),
exacerbation of osteoarthritis.
Elmetacin to produkt leczniczy o działaniu przeciwbólowym, przeciwzapalnym wskazany do stosowania m.in. w leczeniu bólu po urazach, kontuzjach, zapaleniu stawów.

Dawkowanie
Ten lek należy zawsze stosować dokładnie tak, jak opisano to w ulotce dla pacjenta lub według zaleceń lekarza lub farmaceuty.
Lek do stosowania miejscowego na skórę.
Lek stosuje się w postaci aplikowania, nie ma konieczności wcierania roztworu.
Przed pierwszym użyciem oraz po dłuższym okresie stosowania należy kilkakrotnie nacisnąć aplikator.
Leku nie stosuje się pod opatrunkiem okluzyjnym!
Opatrunek można założyć po kilku minutach od aplikacji.
Lek można stosować 1-2 tygodnie.
W przypadku nasilenia objawów lub braku poprawy po 3-dniowym stosowaniu leku, należy skonsultować się z lekarzem.
Dorośli: lek stosuje się 3-5 razy na dobę. W zależności od wielkości bolesnego obszaru stosuje się od 0,5 ml do 1,5 ml np. 5 naciśnięć pompki do 15 razy (odpowiednio 4-12 mg indometacyny).
Dawka dobowa nie powinna przekroczyć 7,5 ml aplikowanego roztworu, czyli 60 mg indometacyny i odpowiednio 75 naciśnięć aplikatora.
Działanie
Elmetacin zawiera indometacynę, która należy do NLPZ, czyli niesteroidowych leków przeciwzapalnych, które hamują syntezę prostaglandyn (odpowiedzialnych m.in. za stan zapalny, ból). Wykazuje działanie przeciwzapalne i przeciwbólowe.
Wskazania
Objawowe leczenie bólu towarzyszącego:
stanom zapalnym stawów, np. zapalenie ścięgien, pochewek ścięgnistych, torebek stawowych, zesztywnienie stawu barkowego,
stanom zapalnym spowodowanym urazem, kontuzją (stłuczenia, skręcenia, zwichnięcia),
zaostrzeniu choroby zwyrodnieniowej stawu.
