Directions
Carexidil 5% is indicated for the treatment of certain types of alopecia (androgenetic alopecia), a condition characterized by excessive hair loss due to the action of certain hormones present in the body
(androgen hormones).
The effectiveness of Carexidil has not been determined in the following forms: localized or generalized congenital alopecia; cicatricial alopecia of various origins (post-traumatic, mental or infectious origin); acute alopecia spread by toxic substances, drugs, in which hair regrowth is due to the suppression of a specific cause; Celtic region.
The onset and intensity of regrowth vary from patient to patient. Since hair grows slowly, you will have to wait up to 4 months to see the first results of the treatment. If after this period you do not notice any improvement, consult a doctor.
How to use and dosage
Unscrew the white polypropylene cap. Insert the sprayer into the bottle and screw it tightly.
Apply the extension to the rod, press to secure it securely.
Aim the filler at the area to be treated, spray once and distribute Carexidil with your fingertips over the area to be treated. Repeat the operation a total of 10 times to achieve a dose of 1 ml of solution.
Avoid inhaling vapors.
Apply Carexidil only to completely dry hair and scalp.
Start application from the center of the area to be treated and distribute the dose over all affected areas.
Do not apply Carexidil to other areas of the body. Avoid eye contact. In this case, blot the affected area with plenty of cool water.
Wash your hands thoroughly after applying Carexidil.
Use in children and adolescents: Carexidil is not recommended for use in people under 18 years of age.
Special populations: Carexidil is not recommended for use in patients over 55 years of age.
Interactions
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines. This is especially important if you are taking medicines that widen blood vessels (peripheral vasodilators).
Do not use Carexidil with other medicines that are applied directly to the scalp (cortico, tretinoin, anthralin).
Warnings

Contraindications
Do not use Carexidil:
if you are allergic to minoxidil or any of the other ingredients in this medicine;
if you have heart disease (ischemic heart disease, arrhythmia, congestive heart failure or heart defect);
if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Carexidil is not indicated in the following conditions:
You have no history of hair loss in your family;
Hair loss is sudden and/or patchy;
Hair loss has been present since birth (congenital alopecia);
Hair loss is caused by childbirth, exposure to toxic substances or drugs, scars (e.g. after an injury, infectious or psychological causes) or if you do not know the cause;
You have a red, inflamed, infected or painful scalp.
Side effects
Stop taking Carexidil and call your doctor immediately if you notice:
Severe allergic reactions that may include skin rashes, swelling of the hands, feet, face, eyes, lips, throat with difficulty breathing (angioedema);
low or high blood pressure (hypotension or hypertension), rapid heartbeat (tachycardia), pulsating sensation (palpitations), chest pain (possibly angina), weakness, dizziness;
sudden, unexplained weight gain;
persistent redness or irritation of the scalp (which may also occur due to sensitization phenomena due to long-term use of the drug);”
