FreeStyle Blood Glucose Test Strips are used with the FreeStyle, FreeStyle Freedom, and Freestyle Mini to measure glucose (sugar) from a capillary blood sample. The measurement is started after placing the strip in the meter if a sufficiently large blood sample is present on the strip. Additional blood application is possible within 5 seconds.
Use
- Lite test strips are calibrated to display plasma glucose equivalent values for easier comparison with laboratory results.
- When purchasing and unpacking new strips, it is necessary to calibrate the meter itself according to the enclosed instructions!
Measurement procedure
- special aids are used for blood collection, so-called autolancets (collection pen) and lancets , with the help of which we obtain a suitably large drop of blood
- a drop of blood is applied to the test strip and inserted into the body of the meter
- after a while, the meter will show the measured blood glucose level
Fasting blood glucose should not exceed 5.5 mmol / l, and blood glucose measured at any time of the day, including after a meal, should be around 7.5 mmol / l. When measuring significantly higher values, it is necessary to visit a doctor.
