The yellow gold from Asia: the turmeric root
The turmeric (turmeric) root is far more than a spice. In the tradition of India, the plant, also known as turmeric or Siam tulip, has played an important role for centuries. Curcumin is the most important ingredient in turmeric root. It belongs to the curcuminoids, so-called secondary plant substances.
Problem: The bioavailability
The outstanding benefit of this secondary plant substance has so far often failed due to the absorption capacity in the body. Conventional turmeric extracts are hardly soluble in water and can therefore only be absorbed very poorly by the body. Therefore one would have to ingest very large amounts in the gram range in order to achieve any therapeutic benefit at all.
